BULLETIN NOTES

Thanks to Ralph Ehlert for playing organ for our worship this morning.

Thanks to Chris Leitner for reading scripture and Sandy Lee for hosting fellowship this morning.

World Mission Offering has always been collected in October, unlike the other major offerings that are collected in the third month of each quarter.  Since we have many other causes to contribute to in October, we have decided to start collecting for WMO in September.  Information and envelopes are in your bulletin.  Please consider how you can support this worthy cause.  (Make checks out to Roundy with a note for WMO.)

Today we celebrate the September birthdays of Mary Murphy (1st), Curtis (TJ) Torry (4th), and Beulah Erickson (30th).  Plan to remain for the celebration.

Our third Fifth Sunday Offering was collected last Sunday for Sojourner Peace Center (Sojourner Truth House).  Thanks to your generosity we collected $149.10.  If you still want to contribute, you may.  Checks should be made out to Roundy and noted for Sojourner.  The next fifth Sunday is October 31.

Next Sunday is the final day we will emphasize the collection of items for a homeless shelter.  If you bring any items after that date, please give them to the pastor.

St. Ben’s  On September 30, Roundy again will help feed the hungry at St. Ben’s.  We already have a volunteer for 2 dozen cupcakes, so we still need sloppy joe mix, 5 lbs. of carrots, and 2 dozen more cupcakes.  Please let the pastor know if you can help.

Bibles Needed  If you have Bibles – any newer translations – that you can donate to the ministry of Broken Walls Community Church, please bring them.  Thanks!

The Greater Milwaukee Crop Hunger Walk is gearing up.  Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 10.  The theme this year is “Enough for All.”  Next Sunday, we will begin collecting non-perishable food items for the Hunger Task Force.  October 10, the day of the Crop Walk, is the final day to bring your food or to support someone who is walking.  As of this date, the following are walking: Pat Hollins, Jo Ellen Witt, and Chris and Heather Leitner.  Ask Chris for more information.

The Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach Program and its faithful volunteers have been serving older adults in Milwaukee County for 36 years.  The 2nd annual Neighborhood Outreach Program fund raiser luncheon, “Pull Up a Chair in Your Neighborhood,” will be  November 12 from 11:00 to 1:30 at the Clarion Hotel, 5311 S. Howell Ave.  Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased by contacting Jackie Anderson at 414-220-8646.  A highlight of the luncheon will be a painted chair auction featuring area artists’ work.  A variety of prize drawings will keep the luncheon interesting and fun, and local celebrities will be on hand to support the event.
